Ann\u00e9e qui a vu se correspondre une r\u00e9volution politique et une r\u00e9volution litt\u00e9raire. Quels rapports s&rsquo;\u00e9tablissent alors entre la crise sociale et politique et la mise en question d&rsquo;une litt\u00e9rature en proie \u00e0 un deuxi\u00e8me \u00ab mal du si\u00e8cle \u00bb ? Cette litt\u00e9rature du d\u00e9senchantement -qui ne regroupe pas que des d\u00e9sillusionn\u00e9s &#8211; est une litt\u00e9rature de la crise (<em>Le Rouge et le Noir; La Peau de chagrin<\/em>); elle se r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e8re par l&rsquo;ironie &#8211; le \u00ab je ne sais quoi d&rsquo;ironique et de narquois \u00bb d\u00e9cel\u00e9 par Balzac dans le roman de Stendhal &#8211; aussi bien que par la d\u00e9nonciation des exc\u00e8s du Romantisme venue d&rsquo;un a\u00een\u00e9 et d&rsquo;un inspirateur comme Nodier, ou par la parodie et, surtout, le renouvellement des th\u00e8mes et des formes. Cette litt\u00e9rature de la crise est la marque du  \u00ab Romantisme de 1830 \u00bb. On a voulu la saisir et la comprendre \u00e0 partir de Stendhal, en amont mais aussi au-del\u00e0 de lui, en suivant le \u00ab tremblement \u00bb de Juillet jusqu&rsquo;aux ann\u00e9es 1835-1836. L&rsquo;attention s&rsquo;est port\u00e9e sur les grands textes repr\u00e9sentatifs et sur le r\u00e9cit excentrique, sur le regain de la nouvelle et du r\u00e9cit bref et, n\u00e9cessairement, sur l&rsquo;\u00e9cole du d\u00e9senchantement dont l&rsquo;interrogation permet de mieux situer ce deuxi\u00e8me Romantisme, \u00e0 partir, entre autres exemples, du constat et des postulations d&rsquo;un Balzac \u00e0 la recherche d&rsquo;un Romantisme critique de la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 post-r\u00e9volutionnaire.
