Il s\u2019agit dans <em>De l\u2019Amour<\/em> d\u2019une notion clef comme le \u00abnaturel\u00bb, la \u00abvanit\u00e9\u00bb et la \u00abpudeur\u00bb, \u00e0 laquelle l\u2019auteur consacre trois chapitres du Livre premier. Nous nous int\u00e9ressons dans cette communication \u00e0 pr\u00e9ciser le r\u00f4le attribu\u00e9 \u00e0 ce sentiment dans les c\u00e9l\u00e8bres \u00abquatre amours diff\u00e9rents\u00bb, \u00absept \u00e9poques de l\u2019amour\u00bb, et dans les th\u00e9ories des \u00abnations par rapport \u00e0 l\u2019amour\u00bb. Apr\u00e8s avoir constat\u00e9, avec Michel Crouzet, qu\u2019il est li\u00e9 au doute susceptible de d\u00e9clencher la seconde cristallisation, et par l\u00e0 peut participer \u00e0 une strat\u00e9gie amoureuse (th\u00e8me d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 plus tard dans <em>Le Rouge<\/em>), nous avons signal\u00e9 le risque impliqu\u00e9 dans cette strat\u00e9gie m\u00eame, surtout quand il s\u2019agit de provoquer chez l\u2019autre une vraie passion. Le \u00abd\u00e9sir triangulaire\u00bb de Ren\u00e9 Girard est certes pr\u00e9sent autant dans l\u2019amour-passion que dans l\u2019amour de vanit\u00e9, ce qui estompe la fronti\u00e8re entre ces deux esp\u00e8ces d\u2019amour, mais nous avons soulign\u00e9 que, dans <em>De l\u2019Amour<\/em>, cette pr\u00e9sence du m\u00e9diateur (qui incite le sujet \u00e0 imiter son d\u00e9sir) ne parvient pas tout \u00e0 fait \u00e0 compromettre la supr\u00e9matie de l\u2019amour-passion, que l\u2019auteur persiste \u00e0 mettre au compte du d\u00e9sir spontan\u00e9.
