Sa th\u00e9orie est<br \/>\noriginale (elle refuse le drame), elle veut restaurer le plaisir<br \/>\ndramatique, donc revenir aux principes du genre (\u00e0 Aristote), elle met en<br \/>\nplace toute une esth\u00e9tique du spectacle (action, langage, relations de la<br \/>\nsc\u00e8ne et de la salle) ; et Stendhal qui n\u2019est pas moderniste, est ici<br \/>\nmoderne dans sa conception du <em>jugement esth\u00e9tique<\/em>, et de l\u2019<em>illusion<\/em>,<br \/>\ncomme dans sa r\u00e9invention du comique, victime d\u2019un consensus r\u00e9pressif :<br \/>\nsa pens\u00e9e du rire inverse les valeurs \u00e9tablies ; il choisit la farce et le<br \/>\nsac de Scapin, il s\u2019interroge sur le ridicule, il opte pour Regnard contre<br \/>\nMoli\u00e8re, pour la <em>plaisanterie<\/em> contre le <em>comique<\/em>, pour<br \/>\nle rire <em>gai<\/em> contre le rire satirique, et d\u00e9finitivement pour<br \/>\nl\u2019\u00e9nergie euphorique de la <em>vis comica<\/em>. Avec les deux <em>Racine<br \/>\net Shakespeare<\/em>, c\u2019est tout un pan de l\u2019oeuvre de Stendhal qui est \u00e0<br \/>\nred\u00e9couvrir.
