Pourtant,&nbsp;on&nbsp;en parle souvent&nbsp;au XIX<sup>e<\/sup>&nbsp;si\u00e8cle&nbsp;:&nbsp;avec sa devise \u00ab&nbsp;Honneur et Patrie&nbsp;\u00bb,&nbsp;la L\u00e9gion d\u2019honneur&nbsp;devient objet de convoitise&nbsp;;&nbsp;le&nbsp;duel&nbsp;dont&nbsp;survit&nbsp;la pratique&nbsp;t\u00e9moigne&nbsp;de la&nbsp;persistance de&nbsp;la notion&nbsp;;&nbsp;dans l\u2019espace intime,&nbsp;l\u2019honneur&nbsp;constitue&nbsp;un&nbsp;des motifs&nbsp;psychologiques \u00e0 l\u2019occasion du&nbsp;mariage,&nbsp;de&nbsp;l\u2019adult\u00e8re&nbsp;ou&nbsp;de&nbsp;la vengeance.&nbsp;Ainsi,&nbsp;l\u2019honneur&nbsp;est&nbsp;pens\u00e9 et v\u00e9cu dans&nbsp;ses&nbsp;diverses&nbsp;implications&nbsp;qui&nbsp;concernent&nbsp;aussi bien&nbsp;la vie publique que la vie priv\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce sont ces divers enjeux de l\u2019honneur dans l\u2019\u0153uvre de Stendhal que propose d\u2019\u00e9tudier ce colloque.&nbsp;Quels sont les rapports de l\u2019honneur avec le moi,&nbsp;quel est&nbsp;son r\u00f4le dans une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9galitaire&nbsp;?&nbsp;Consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme principe de la monarchie selon Montesquieu, l\u2019honneur trouve&nbsp;une&nbsp;place parfois ambivalente dans les&nbsp;r\u00e9flexions politiques de Stendhal.&nbsp;Il sera aussi question&nbsp;du&nbsp;rapport&nbsp;de l\u2019honneur&nbsp;\u00e0 la vanit\u00e9 ou du d\u00e9sir de distinction pour Henri Beyle,&nbsp;par exemple&nbsp;dans&nbsp;ses \u00e9crits&nbsp;autobiographiques.&nbsp;Puisque&nbsp;l\u2019honneur diff\u00e8re dans ses modes&nbsp;chez&nbsp;les femmes et&nbsp;chez&nbsp;les hommes,&nbsp;on pourra&nbsp;s\u2019int\u00e9resser \u00e0&nbsp;la repr\u00e9sentation de la&nbsp;f\u00e9minit\u00e9&nbsp;ou de la masculinit\u00e9&nbsp;dans l\u2019\u0153uvre romanesque.&nbsp;L\u2019honneur&nbsp;\u00e9tant&nbsp;\u00e9galement&nbsp;visible&nbsp;dans les r\u00e9cits de voyage,&nbsp;on envisagera&nbsp;une g\u00e9ographie&nbsp;de&nbsp;l\u2019honneur, qui&nbsp;ne&nbsp;fonctionnerait pas de la m\u00eame mani\u00e8re&nbsp;en France,&nbsp;nation de la vanit\u00e9,&nbsp;qu\u2019en Italie, nation&nbsp;de la passion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019examen de l\u2019honneur dans tous ses \u00e9tats&nbsp;dans l\u2019\u0153uvre de Stendhal&nbsp;conduira&nbsp;\u00e0&nbsp;\u00e9valuer&nbsp;l\u2019\u00e9cart&nbsp;ou&nbsp;la continuit\u00e9 entre&nbsp;l\u2019Ancien r\u00e9gime&nbsp;et&nbsp;le XIX<sup>e<\/sup>&nbsp;si\u00e8cle,&nbsp;mais aussi&nbsp;entre l\u2019\u00e9poque de Stendhal et la n\u00f4tre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;
